  1. He’s coming back from Tommy John and may not pitch this year. The bastards did it again.

  2. Yeah but those two months in 2025 are gonna be great. And then they’ll get nothing for him and he’ll be a Dodger

  3. Hendriks is one of my favorite players but i’m not a fan of the move, coming off of tommy john at his age isn’t a great sign for future success

  4. Good move. Still points to us not trying to contend until 2025, but there’s a good chance we’ll have a strong team then – especially letting the youngsters play in 2024. Give them a year of development and figure out which ones are truly keepers.

  5. Looks like it may be front-loaded while he’s hurt to lower CBT hit for next year, which is smart. The latest report says it could also be a 3 year deal as well.

I actually wanted this move all offseason with knowing they’re not competing this year. They lock up an excellent reliever for 2025 and potentially 2026 when they have a better shot to compete and hopefully better SP in the rotation, and he’s one of the best personalities in baseball that you can add to a young locker room, especially with the hell he went through fighting and beating cancer.

It’s not his age that blew his elbow. It’s the fact that he rushed back from beating cancer wanting to play before he was stretched out enough. I entirely admire that.

  6. He’s a good dude. I like the signing for the vibes. The logical part of brain, however, isn’t huge on this. He is old, won’t pitch until late 2024 in that he is coming off TJ, and the backend of our BP is already all set. I guess this means Martin or Jansen will be sold at the deadline, since I’ve read the Red Sox haven’t been happy with the presented packages they’ve gotten for both right now, which I am fine with, but wow … what a way to tell the team you don’t believe in them by already anticipating selling mid-season before the season has even begun. 💀

  7. How does this help the sox? Genuinely curious. What, so he may be up to par by what… September? Or is this all for control in 2025? Scratching my head at this move.

  8. A late thirties pitcher coming back from Tommy John, what could go wrong. They should have just saved their money.
