  1. I have the same look on my face right now as he does. He is dreaming of having that red hat…and I wish he still did.

  2. He looks so sad…

Y’know what though? I don’t hate him as a Brewer. The vibes align pretty well between him and Milwaukee. And if we can’t bring him home somehow in the next few years, I hope he gets a ring or two out of it.

We all love him, but maybe he was just too sweet and pure for good ol’ philthadelphia. Harper ejections and open shirt Castellanos might be more our vibe.

I feel the same way about this as I felt about cutch leaving for beer town.

  3. Glad he’s getting his money. One of the issues with baseball is these guys spend a good portion of their 20s being significantly underpaid

  4. He looks kidnapped (but where the kidnappers give you a lot of money and a position to play that isn’t blocked by Bryce Harper) – bring him home!

  5. Every year a local charity has a group
(150 tix)game, and we sit out in section 201. This year is June 4th, Reese’s 2nd game back at CBP. Should be a fun night.

  6. That’s Philly throw away 30 homers a year good job. Not to mention throw away great enthusiasm for a team that needs enthusiasm. Third place at best this year

  7. Was just watching, yesterday, the video the Phillies put out a month or so ago. For the 10th time.

He may have moved but he’ll always be phamily.

  8. I live in Wisconsin.

My whole life I’ve been spoiled by baseball. In my youth, the Twins won a World Series (I’m actually closer to Minneapolis than I am Milwaukee) and for all my life I was listening to either Bob Uecker or Harry Kalas call games until adulthood. I still get to hear Uecker. I go to Milwaukee for every Phillies game, and I sit back by the bullpen where you can hear Bob’s broadcast if he’s calling the game.

That said, I ride or die Phillies red, I am mostly indifferent to the rest of the league with the exception of our rivals, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to still have a front row seat to this guy.

And everyone in the comments is correct – Rhys and Wisconsin go hand in hand. They’re a good fit for one another. Even if temporarily. They’ll be good to him there, and I think it’s impossible for Rhys as a person not to give more than he takes in a lot of scenarios. What he does off the field seems to me like it’s as equal as what he does on it for his communities. And yeah I’m obviously going to go see him and you bet your ass I’m gonna try and see if his wife will buy us beverages like she did in Philly. Haha!

Also, I was curious if he signed a short deal because he was given a prove it contract, or if he was given a short deal so he could keep his options open. My guess is a little of both.

I firmly believe with all my heart he retires a Phillie.

  9. I like it for him. Milwaukee as a town has similar vibes to Philly – underrated even in its geographical region because of asshole neighbors, limited sustained pro sports success, decent to good fan support, etc.

Oh, and (checking notes) a team with an overall losing record, historically.

  10. MY EYES! AAARRRGGHHHH!!!!

(But they do have the best away unis in baseball, and the best logo in all of sports… just sayin’.)

  11. Showed this to my dad-

    Dad: Who is that?

    Me: It’s Rhys!

Dad: I didn’t recognize him in that hat.

If there’s an upside it’s the blue brings out the blue in his eyes.
