  1. This was from yesterday’s show on SiriusXM. He went on to say that the other 2 to blame behind Luka were ANT and Lebron. ANT because he shot lefthanded in the skills competition and Lebron because he’s suppose to be the face of the league motivating everyone else.

I just thought it was funny how worked up he got and how eager he was to put the majority of the blame on Luka. The game hasn’t been competive for years (minus the last quarter of the target score year).

  2. I’m with Josh Lloyd: who gives a fuck about the ASG and why should I care?

No reason to post about it here

  3. I don’t disagree with anything he said. NBA is an entertainment product and the all star weekend isn’t entertaining at all because it has a culture of not giving a shit. Luka didn’t start that but he is one of the worst offenders. The games were always “meaningless” but the players usually played actual basketball and tried to win the skill competitions. It changed when they started acting too cool for it, just like the guy said.

  4. “JUST DONT GO. DONT GO….. I KNOW HES OBLIGATED TO GO.”

This guy is mad at a product and blaming one person for it lol

  5. He and everyone else complaining is looking at it through the prism of competition – and that’s wrong.

This is intended purely as entertainment. Who was more entertaining in that game — KAT and Dame shooting a bunch of threes like in every game or Luka and Jokic touch-passing the length of the court? The latter was actually *entertaining*.

The ASG needs more people treating it like Luka already does – just have fun in all the ways you never would (or could) in a competitive game, in a way nobody else in the world can but the handful of the very best basketball players in the world as long as they’re not taking themselves too seriously.

  6. Wow what a fucking crybaby. Nobody takes the ASG seriously, Luka doesn’t bother to pretend. Because pretending is stupid

  7. I think it just needs to be a one on one tournament. Most guys won’t want to get shown up with that kind of spotlight. And at the end you will always have the two guys who tried the hardest.

  8. All Star Weekend is a fun thing primarily targeted at kids. The dunk contest doesn’t hit as hard for me bc I’ve seen like 30 of em. When I was a kid, I loved it.

A bunch of people who loved All Star Weekend as kids are now adults and don’t understand why it isn’t targeted to them in the same way as it used to be.

  9. Yea dude, I’m sure the young and impressionable stars like kd, steph and lebron were looking at luka to set the tone and that’s why they weren’t trying hard.

  10. I don’t care about the game. I’d care a lot if Luka hurt something. Just pointless, soulless spectacle. Back to the season please.

  11. An uncle I know posted that the ASG was the first game he was watched in a few years. He went on to talk about how it’s an embarrassment and stuff. Like bro it’s the ASG.

  12. The ASG is a exhibition game for goodness sakes. Being chosen may be an honor but it doesnt mean they wanna play.

What of Luka scores 73 in the ASG, they will say oh no its just an ASG. No win at all lol

  13. ASG is crap if I put it politely. There is no competiveness. If there would be no brake before and after the ASG, I wouldn’t even bother looking at the highlights. But I did since it’s nothing else to watch for like a week. Can’t play normal defence and have to take care not to hurt someone or yourself, so how to motivate highly competitive athlets??? You can’t!
Risk of injury is a part of playing sport. I know a lot of guys are angry when NBA players go play for their country, like the NBA is only thing that matters. If international games were played in same spirit as ASG (read: no fouling, taking it easy on yourself and others) no one would bother if they go and play for their country. So expecting them to play ASG seriously is insane. Just imagine going to an all star martial art competition where fighters would not be alowed to throw serious puches, but just the easy and fake ones, how could that be fun and entertaining? It would be like watching wrestling… pathethic. Hate the game, not the player!
