  1. This has me really worried that the ducks are gonna end up like the Sabres or coyotes and start a second rebuild before they ever get good

  2. Listening to offers doesn’t mean they are dead set on trading him. Pat wouldn’t be doing his job if he wasn’t listening to offers. Zegras isn’t getting moved no matter how much insiders want it to happen for clicks

  3. Just because people are calling doesn’t mean we’re looking to trade him. If there’s interest I think it’d be a bad idea to not at least listen. We don’t have to do anything.

  4. Verbeek has a vision for the team and it’s very possible the player he inherited doesn’t fit it. Good for us if we do it

  5. We are in a great spot to move on from him. There’s no rush and we can wait for the right deal to happen. I don’t see Zegras being on this team long term. and getting a haul for him will do wonders for this team.

  6. Lebrun clearly says they are not trying to move him. They just wanna see if someone goes crazy.

Wild take to say youre disappointed or think he would be moved

  7. This means absolutely nothing, every GM listens to calls on every player, why tf would you not.

This is how it probably worked. Lebrun talks to a GM he is friends with and he said he asked about Zegras’ ask, Verbeek listened. HUGE IF TRUE!

  8. Unless we get a great offer I can’t see Zegras going anywhere. What we lack right now is top wing depth, creativity in the transition game and offensive creation. Zegras checks all 3 boxes so unless we are getting a haul of picks and prospects I just can’t see us moving. Owners might also have a thing or two to say, Zegras is a very marketable player who brings in revenue. This just looks like the Gibson rumors we hear every year, yet he is still here.

  9. I don’t think we trade him. He’s getting the insiders clicks. And on top of that, now GMs are calling Verbeek asking about Zegras and it’s starting off trade conversations that we weren’t having with other teams yet. Verbeek now knows what other teams are willing to trade and can negotiate for those guys with players that are actually on the block like Gibson, Fowler, Vatrano, Henrique etc. If we ever trade Zegras, it wouldn’t make any sense right now, his value is at the lowest it’s ever been for him as a player right now (injuries, less scoring, last minute contract after camp).

  10. IIRC, didn’t Verbeek say in an interview with Alexis Downie that he listens to every offer, even if he’s not trading that player? Something like it shows what the other GMs are looking move?

  11. Zegras is definitely gonna cost at the very least 2 1st round picks and I don’t think any team is willing to risk that.

  12. *Ring ring*

    PVB: Hello?

GM: Hey Pat! Just calling cause we are looking to improve for a playoff run and that deadline is comin in fast! I was wondering about that Zegras kid you got?

PVB: Well, that depends entirely on the offer. I’m listening.

GM: Well, we are a bit cap strapped and already gave away a top prospect and our fir…. hello? Pat? Hello?

    *fin*

  13. Listening doesn’t mean its happening.

You should always be listening. If somebody offers the kings ransom, sure.

If it’s normal offers, business as usual.

  14. Too soft ( like a lot of the team) for the team Pat is trying to build. We are way too easy to play against.
