  1. Senga is what I would consider a secondary ace – he’s somebody who is an ace on half the clubs, probably the second best pitcher on the other half. Regardless, you’d feel comfortable going into the season with him as a #1 – so long as you have quality pitching sitting behind him.

The Mets do not have that. It’s Senga and a bunch of question marks with meh ceilings and low floors. Not signing an actual difference making SP this offseason has all the potential in the world to bite this team in the ass, if they do plan on being competitive like everyone has been saying.

If Senga goes down, there’s no hope for this rotation. You can’t really build a pitching staff that way, every team needs two aces if they’re going to truly be competitive…otherwise, they have to outhit the opposition completely or have a shut down bullpen.

I was already annoyed that the Mets haven’t really been linked to guys like Montgomery or Snell. Nor had they been linked to guys who were either on or potentially on the trading block like Burnes or Cease. They need another guy to pair at the front of the rotation with Senga.

Hopefully this is nothing, but it should open some eyes how fragile this rotation is if Senga goes down, same with the bullpen if Diaz gets hurt. It’s like MLB the show, where both of those guys are 90-95 while everyone behind them is in the 70s.

  2. Im no trainer or doctor, but is it not alarming that a SP has arm fatigue in Feb? Sounds like something you experience in season.

  3. Verstappen is already dominating f1 and the mets are already imploding. Gonna be a fun summer

  4. What’s everyone stressed about. Why I have been assured by many on this board that Stearns has built up plenty of “quality” depth. Nothing to worry about.

  5. I don’t want to know what he’s been doing all off-season to have ‘arm fatigue’ at this point…
