Sonny Gray

I’m getting pumped about Sonny as an ace. He has the attitude. He knows how to pitch. His development throughout his career has been outstanding. Now he can take everything he has learned in the last 10 years and lead a team. See this video pumping him as an outside Cy Young candidate (he finished second, for god’s sake): [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMtdiJ7hPpE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMtdiJ7hPpE). Go, Sonny, go!

  1. From the reports, he’s also been verrrrrry vocal in Spring Training about his training and has been very open with catchers and pitchers alike.

Maybe, maybe not, but it sounds like this guy is helping revamp the entire pitching philosophy inside the organization.

  2. From what i’ve seen, he’s the most “competitive” starter we’ve had since Carpenter. We have a lot of “nice guys” on the team, but we need some who are going to go out there and throw down some attitude.

I know this sub hates on offseason moves in general, but I’m impressed that Mo had a plan and executed it quickly in the offseason. I didn’t say it was GOOD plan yet – time will tell, but they really were decisive and got the guys they wanted.
