  1. Absolute pass. If we’re signing someone it should be Montgomery. Even at his cheapest Snell isn’t worth even remotely close to what he wants. And that’s without all the penalties to the draft and the $1mil lost in international spending. Hard hard hard pass

  2. Bruv wants 9 years lol if he was gonna take a civilian contract he would be a Yankee right now

  3. You don’t panic sign someone with a qualifying offer when you get bad injury news. That’s how you suck forever. Absolutely brutal that senga is going to miss time. Likely makes any chance at the playoffs a huge long shot but panicking and giving up what will likely be a very high draft pick for a guy with a bunch of flaws makes no sense.

  4. Losing the draft picks and international money isn’t enough of a deterrent for what Snell would bring to the table as of today.

This team has a ton of good players, no sense in wasting their talent by running out a bunch of hot garbage and calling it a rotation.

  5. Giving up a draft pick when this roster just lost its current ace and probably needs everything to go right to stay in the playoff mix is bad business.

  6. Stearns seemed to already rule this out. Wouldn’t be against a high annual salary deal for 1-2 years tho (with player opt outs).

  7. I agree with you if he’s willing to take a 5 year deal. Yes he is not an ace and will be overpaid, but he can greatly improve the current rotation. I’m fine with losing a draft pick as well, as that pick (even if it pans out) will take at least 4 years to make any impact on the team. At that point you have wasted the primes of Pete, Lindor, and Nimmo.

We need help and we need it now.

  8. Earlier this season they had their “we plan to be competitive” bs speech, and were sticking by that. But losing our only good pitcher and them not picking up a FA to replace him is pretty much waiving the white flag in all of our faces.

  9. Couldn’t disagree more. Blake Snell signing a monster deal with the Mets and immediately turning into a pumpkin is the most Mets thing possible. The guy has red flag after red flag in his pitching profile and giving up draft compensation + a big deal because one starter is injured is not a way to turn around this franchise. Jordan Montgomery is a guy they should’ve probably been targeting anyways.

  10. That casino next to Citi is going to bankrupt some of you. Dude has had two great seasons in an eight year career and you guys are pleading to overpay for it.
