  1. Looking forward to seeing Casey get traded and then go on to win a cup in like 2 years…

  2. Sign him. He is our 1-2-3 punch for centers.

He can bounce between 1st 2nd and 3rd liner as well making him even more valuable.

    Just not more than 6mil

  3. Depends on his price and term. He’s a good player. Also depends on what a return might look like.

  4. I want to keep Mitts. There’s no one on the team who plays like him and he can play any role from 1st line center to 3rd line winger. If you can keep him at 6.5M or lower I’d do it.

  5. Trade. There’s so many centers in the pipeline right now that could get to his level. It’s not worth giving him a deal now and risking the same situation with a younger (and possibly) more talented prospect in 1-2 years. If we were higher in the standings today I’d have a different opinion but we are where we are. Hope the best for the guy though.

  6. This has to be a negotiation tactic. There’s no way KA is trading away a guy who wants to be here, worked his ass off for us, for himself and for the team, just to be here!!! You don’t trade a guy like that because there’s a chance a prospect will turn into him in a few years. The team can afford him and the cap situation is fine.

It would be super Buffalo-ish to trade him though. Sabres go from trading away guys who don’t want to be here to trading away guys who do. Bold strategy, but nothing else has worked 😂
