With his performance tonight, Victor Wembanyama becomes the 15th player and the 22nd instance in NBA history to record a 5×5 (PTS-REB-AST-STL-BLK) game, since 1973-74 when blocks and steals became official.
At 20y, 50d old, he is the youngest player since tracking began to have such a game (previously: Andrei Kirilenko, 22y, 288d old).
He is the second rookie to ever record such a game (Jamaal Tinsley: 11.16.01, IND v MIN – 12 PTS, 15 AST, 9 REB, 6 STL, 5 BLK).

The only "sad" thing for being the 1st draft pick is that you know you'll end up in a less-than-average team. Spurs are a far cry from the dominating franchise they were a decade ago, but Wemby does not seem to care and is putting the work to give his team the best chance to win.

Wemby has improved as a player and also as a leader in his rookie year this year. This and past game has been within a reach of a win, more experience and getting a point guard would put Spurs in a better position to be a playoff team and contender for a long term.
