“Mason is not afraid to take chances as a quarterback. Pushing the ball down the field, he’s gonna stand in the pocket, he’s not afraid to take that pressure. I think what hurts Kenny is, and I think we talked about this off-camera, is he retreats too much, so he makes it easier for guys to get him. He retreats too much and it makes easier for him to get corraled in the pocket. And it makes the defender’s job that much easier because now he can’t set up into his throw and deliver the ball with the right amount of velocity that he needs to.”

He’s saying that kenny plays scared in the pocket and in turn causes the offense to stagnate because he’s not going through his progressions at all. We saw this nonstop last year where he was running into sacks and refusing time and again to move up into the pocket and deliver the football. You simply can’t succeed in the nfl playing qb the way kenny is playing qb and the players on the team know it. This also confirms that the playcalling was exactly the same post canada it’s just that mason was playing within the system and willing to stand in the pocket and deliver the football which in turn caused the offense to produce at a significantly higher level.
