Morning Embers: Twenty Two Individual Penalties Edition

Flames dump the Oilers 6-3

Six goals, two fights, an unhinged Coleman who is also team leader in goals, Hanifin career high in goals, Vladar was good, Hunt got his first as a Flame and we all got to see a pissy Evander Kane

The game that keeps on giving

  1. I’d like to see us keep the ball rolling.

We talk about teams peaking at the right time, I’m not saying we are there- right now! But the timing of this team coming together and being more consistent is nice to see.

  2. I am generally tired of professional hockey analysts. I have noticed that there are several YouTube hockey channels that are more objective and thoughtful than most professional analysts.

  3. Who would’ve thought with the misery and cynicism running rampant that we would be having FUN watching hockey?

Just something cool to be grateful for.

    Fire team good.

  4. How do you even pick 3 stars for that game? You could make a good case for more than half of the team.

  5. Remember when Oilers fans last night had the “Calgary sucks” chant going? While actively losing the game? While never once having the lead at any point?

    I remember.

  6. I really, really wish we could keep him… but seeing as that doesn’t appear to be in the cards I am loving how hard Hanifin is playing for this team. Not only is he helping us today, he’s driving up his trade value in a way that will help us well into the future, too. Same goes for Tanev. Absolute beasts.

  7. I am so disappointed that Hanifin hasn’t re-signed. Between him, weegs, ras and kyli, we have such a dynamic core all at the beginning of their best years. They would be the perfect wall to develop a young goalie behind. I think from a developmental point we need to always have a couple spots on the blue line for guys on their way up, but man… losing him and Tanev is going to really hurt.
