Well the penguins have a coach who only wants players who are 5’9 and below and to never hit anyone ever, so he’s riding the pine.
I think they are just trying to rehab his injury, tough to come back and be 100% after the surgery he had. Got a couple games in, now giving him some time off before getting him back in. That’s my best guess cus his play has been better than Harkins/Phillips
He’s never been some amazing NHLer. I don’t see why we expect him to be someone he isn’t
He’s a pretty underwhelming player that’s coming off a major surgery.
They signed him for 2 years for a reason. I’m not expecting much of anything this year, but next year is the real evaluation for him about whether he’s still a NHL caliber guy.
The exact same issues he had in Edmonton and Carolina.
Someone please make a helmet that fits this young man !
Coming from a guy in EDM I had really liked JP he has a lot of raw skill the biggest thing which I don’t think he can improve at this point is he just can’t process the game at this high of a level. Things just happen to quick for him to be effective. I hope he figures it out with you guys but it’s why he has had very little success at the NHL level.
