  1. “Mike you should leave NE and test the FA waters! There’s nothing for you here! Go look for a better opportunity! You could be making 15% more on a contending team next year! It’s a no brainer!”

The behemoth man stood stoic. A thousand thoughts should’ve filled his head, but only one rang out through the gravity of the situation.

    “You’re fired”

    #Foxboro forever

  2. I don’t really know what to make of this as to whether its good, bad, or neutral regarding the chance of him re-signing here. I’ll hope its a good sign, but we’ll see.

  3. Without knowing the particulars, he clearly doesn’t agree with whatever his agents were discussing with him.

I hope it increases the odds that he stays in NE.

  4. It’s front office malpractice that he’s allowed to hit the free market. You hit the lottery nailing a sixth round borderline all-pro guard who can also give you competent play at tackle and he’s somehow not granted an extension.

I’m so tired of playing merry-go-round at every position.

  5. Guys dont fire an agent to negotiate elsewhere. You do it when you don’t want to leave and they push you to do something you don’t want

  6. Does firing the agent save Mike paying a fee on the franchise tag? Is Mike saving a few bucks by canning this agent and hiring a new one for next year?

If the agent spent the whole year assuring the client he wouldn’t be tagged, and was wrong, that’d be worth a firing right before “free agency”.

Otherwise, switching agents at this point makes very little sense to me.

  7. Its maddening we need massive help at OL and basically the top two FA lineman are our own and we’re not paying. Maybe with Mayo.. MO and TBV will play like dogs if given market rates.

Sitting at the top though they will be outbid with good reason not to match. Tough spot.

    Tag one, pay the other?

  8. I thought it was Bill that strong armed free agents and didn’t want to pay players per the Dynasty documentary! Kraft is such a lovable guy, he’s just like one of us!

    Sarcasm.

I hope this fucking shows everyone who actually dictated the purse strings. The fact Owenu isn’t locked up is criminal. Literal home run pick and player development and you’re letting him hit FA?!?!?!

  9. They should retain this guy. They have passed on a few guys recently Thuney was a big loss and they should have paid him but maybe he knew what was up and bailed.
