I’m shocked Chapman hasn’t signed somewhere yet.
He’s a very streaky hitter. He gets hot real quick, and then he can go ice cold for a month. Unfortunately all the Jays seem to go cold in October 🙁
Honestly, I hope the Astros keep him in mind for when they invevitably lose Bregman after this season
I’d rather the Jay’s pick up bellinger rather then chapman. Turner can play 3rd.
I doubt whoever you have coming up behind Chapman is better than he is, and in the AL East, the strongest division in baseball, I don’t think you can afford to take a step back. He was the only good infield defender you guys had last year, and while he’s not perfect, his defense and pop mean he likely will have positive value for the next few years. I think you’ll get your wish though, the Jays don’t seem willing to spend much and Chapman probably wants too much term as a Boras client.
