  1. Let’s completely retire the idea that Caleb has a clear preference on where to play. If we want him he’s ours.

  2. Good article that gives a little bit more insight into Caleb’s thoughts during this time. Paints him in a much better light than some of those other rumors that were going around imo

  3. Loved this part:

    > Williams said he has been to Chicago once, has heard good things about the rowdiness of Bears fans, and has gone down video rabbit holes studying both Jordan and Payton, two of the city’s most iconic athletes.

    > “I’m 22. I didn’t really get to see those players,” Williams said. “As the saying goes, the legends live on. That’s my goal of playing football — it’s not money, it’s not fame … it’s to be immortal. I want to reach that sense of being a legend. Being at the table … and having a rightful seat through hard work and energy and time I’ve put into this game that we all love.

    > “It’s appealing to be in a city like that. With legends that you’ve looked up to … reach for the standard they set and try to do anything to get there.”

  4. I was never worried. If nothing else, we always had Kevin Warren to come in and charm Caleb/his dad.

  5. I like how watching videos of Jordan and Payton seems to have had an influence on him. Fuck, I’m ready for the next chapter, boys

  6. I’ll admit I thought there might be something to the rumour he didn’t want to go to Chicago.

  7. I have major Bears QB ptsd especially cause I really thought coming into the season Fields was the chosen one.

If we can’t make a prospect like Caleb work we might just not ever be destined to have a franchise QB.

  8. “I’m excited. I’m ready to get back on a football team around my teammates and my brothers — my new brothers now.”

    – Seems to me like he will fill Justin’s place in the locker room just fine, contrary to opinions he isn’t a leader and is a bad teammate.

“Being able to see who I am as a person and my heart and love for football and winning games,” Williams said. “That’s what I think they’ll get from it, and my intensity about being on a team and going out there and kicking ass with my new brothers. That’s what I’m excited about. That’s who I am.”

    – Williams to DJ will feed generations of families

    – Consider me sold. Let’s get to it. BEAR DOWN 🐻⬇️

  9. Can’t believe all those obviously made up stories from clear troll accounts weren’t true! The facebook Fields Cult is going to be doing mental gymnastics today!

  10. I know these guys get coached up and everything, but I have to admit I really liked his quotes in this.

  11. > That’s my goal of playing football — it’s not money, it’s not fame … it’s to be immortal. I want to reach that sense of being a legend.

    Slow down, I’m gonna cum!

  12. I think it is safe to consider Caleb’s dad as a big reason for the fact that people thought Caleb didn’t want to play for the Bears as well as him wanting to be part owner of the team he played for.

His dad made really stupid comments in GQ magazine interview, in September of 2023 about how Caleb might stay in school another year and that it might be better for a player to go undrafted because then he gets to control where he goes. These comments were reckless and just added fuel to the speculative fire that Caleb didn’t want to play for the Bears and would pull an Eli Manning if the Bears selected him.

  13. Boom, all he had to say, now he just needs to tell his dad to STFU and remind him that he’s a nobody

  14. When did he change his tune? 5 months ago he said he didnt want to be a bear. Does he still want stock in the team that drafts him?
