[Pierre LeBrun] Trade call still pending but hearing Chris Tanev is being traded to Dallas

One of the teams rumored to be in on Walker (And possibly paired with Seeler)
On one hand, Tanev is the biggest defenseman domino to fall and should open up the market more. But on the other hand, it’s one less team for Briere to work with.
This is actually a 3-way trade also involving the Devils retaining some of Tanev’s salary, so presumably Dallas is getting Tanev at 25% salary.
if its only a 2nd then that is a wildly low amount for someone like Tanev
Would have loved Danny to have gotten involved in this deal retaining rather than the Devils since we’ve got cap space to do it.
How is relevant to flyers ?
Can look at this two ways:
1. This sets the market and the Flyers won’t get a 1st for walker.
2. Tanev was probably the biggest RHD trade chip out there, so that bumps up Walker’s stock with the other teams still looking. His contract is a lot easier to stomach as well. First rounder is still an acceptable ask.
I still see it hard to envision both him and Seeler going seeing as how much Seeler is liked and the asking price being high for both players.
