The shots on goal can’t be right, can it? If it weren’t for Crosby, the defense lines would’ve had more of an offensive presence than the offense lines

I didn’t see the game, but the sog stats just boggles my mind. Of the 33 shots, 15 came the defensive lines, 5 from Crosby, and 13 from the remaining offensive players. is there some strategy I’m unaware of? Or was the offense just dead tonight?

  1. This is the mixed result of players lacking confidence , always looking to pass, and a offensive scheme of ” tip in hockey ”

    aka…

    How to lose 101

  2. This is the system. Pass it back to defenseman to take a slap shot and try to get a tip or a rebound. Unfortunately it’s incredibly difficult to tip a shot in the first place and it’s exponentially harder to do so or get rebounds when they have no presence in front of the goalie.

  3. Is there a way to see shot attempts? I remember Malkin having three chances that missed the net.

Grubauer was playing out of his mind last night, which I know causes players to try and pick corners which leads to a lot of shots missing the net. Plus third period Seattle blocked a TON of shots.
