I left PA 16 years ago and have been in Portland for the last 10; I was ecstatic when Seattle got a team. After some reticence about paying $110 for a seat in the second to last row, I decided to just go for it, for several reasons.
The first being that I had not been to a Pens game since October 2008 (Crosby was 21!). Then I thought “Who knows how many more chances I’ll get to see these guys. Lastly, the game was 2 days before my bday, so I was certain the stars aligned for myself and the Pens…
I was wrong. It was still an awesome experience; it was my first Kraken game, and I met a lot of fellow Pens fans (as well as good-hearted Kraken fans who laughed along with my “enemy” banter. All in all, I had a great time, but after all these years, that loss hurt extra.
Enjoy a couple warmup and opening facepff photos (I especially like the one of Ned and Graves goofing around [just new skate goofin?])

Right decision. Sid played well as he always does. Flag you had a good time, wish you had a goal or two to celebrate…
They won two cups on my birthday and a third about 15 minutes before it.
I’m spoiled.
Yoooo, I flew in for the game! I paid 190 for center ice 3 rows back in the vip section with free booze and food, though. Just for future reference…
It was crazy how it seemed like 40/60 penguin to kraken fans.
I’m a Penguins fan out in Colorado who hasn’t stepped foot in Pittsburgh so I go to an Avs VS Pens game once a year. I always make the most of it. Whether the Pens win or lose, it’s always been a great experience for me and I’ve met a lot of great Pens fans at those games over the years.
