  1. THIS! It’s the primary reason we aren’t winning as much as we’d like. Our offense isn’t perfect but we usually put up enough points. Our rotations are not optimal but our 4 best players find a lot of minutes.

But you CANNOT in this era leave shooters open from 3, especially from 1 pass away. The amount of unnecessary double teams in the post is mind boggling when we have a generational defender protecting the rim.

  2. Yeah, they didn’t just do it once, they did it like 5 times off of him. They’ve done it against the best shooter in other teams multiple times in a game (aka doubling off the best shooter). The Lakers easily have half a dozen more wins, or more, simply by changing some of their schemes.

  3. 3’s are better than 2’s someone should tell Ham that when his gameplan is to let 40% shooters open from three

  4. I never played basketball, so I dont know a lot of the technical stuff JJ says but I understood what he meant when he said this. But I had no idea who he was talking about. I dont know if I love or hate that it was the lakers. Either way thank you for solving a mystery I assumed I would never know the answer too.

  5. I’m torn because if this team succeeds Ham’s chances of staying increase 🫤

  6. Only gripe I have is that the highlighted players weren’t correct. Taurean came from the top, AD came from down low, nothing else about his point changes though.

  7. I agree that it is a poor defensive scheme, but player decisions also matter. Rui could have sag off on Nurkic and switch on Grayson while Prince dig on KD. It will force KD to drop the pass on Nurkic (which AD is already guarding the paint) or force the shot from a double team.

  8. Well we used to have a very good defensive coach. Even won a chip with him. But for some reason, we replaced him with mr pockets… we deserve this Lakers fans.

  9. Let’s keep in mind this is hams second season with the same damn core. It’s like he’s gone backwards.
