[Anderson] Tagging Brian Burns obviously remains on the table, as does a tag-and-trade—if it can be executed; but long-term contract talks are not currently in scope between the #Panthers OLB and the team, per source. #Panthers

  1. Pretends to be shocked Scott Fitterer’s self proclaimed best friend takes the exact same stance as Scott Fitterer

  2. I think it’s important to remind people that for a tag and trade to take place the receiving team basically has to have a soft deal with burns agent on a contract. To you know make sure this exact same thing happening now doesn’t happen to the team that just gave up picks for him

It’s alway easy on paper. But end of the day. Unless burns agrees to get out. Or we take an egregiously low offer (low second or third) he isn’t going anywhere. And I doubt this FO will want to start their tenure getting fleeced again.

  3. He’s delusional and wants an unreal contract. Tag and trade him for whatever you can get and build this team from the ground up

  4. Yeah, I would actually agree. He half assed. And you say with this team what did Derek Brown do? He put in work

  5. I hate to see talent leave the org when we’re already so short on it but the guy is asking a considerable premium given his performance.

  6. Honestly, if this is how the relationship is going to be, then it’s clear he’s not a Panther, and we shouldn’t try to make him one. Forget the tag, just let him walk and take a comp pick next year. Be done with him and move on, we don’t need this right now

  7. I feel like burns is all about the money. He always talks about staying in Carolina but wants elite type money and he’s not even close to elite. A complete liability in the run game sometimes.
