I really, really don’t want anyone at HQ to even think about signing him. I’d be willing to see Carr back under center before Wilson, hell, maybe even give Jamarcus another shot first.

Our fanbase is going to be very disappointed next month. There is no chance we get up to 1-3 and the top QBs will be gone. Go ahead and offer them three firsts they’re still gonna decline
Even if we want Penix, Nix, or JJ we may have to trade up just for that. Are they worth potentially trading an extra first for?
Maybe that should be the plan, but is it terrible if we take a solid position player at 13 rather than reach at QB?
Russ didn’t even have a terrible year and he’d be dirt cheap. Solid competition for AOC if we don’t land a QB

If we can’t move up and get those top3 QBs.. having two seasons with Russ, a loaded up OL and more depth to a stacked D? Then have AOC/Rattler sitting behind a SB winning champ? Let’s not be stupid here.

If not him, Cousins, or Fields, free agency is almost our only route.
In the draft, we would almost certainly have to jump ahead of the Broncos. As it is very likely the 4th, even the 5th QB off the board goes #12 to Denver
Rather than spend capital to jump the Broncos, it makes more sense to add QB in free agency and add a difference maker to the O or D line at #13

If he signs for the vet minimum or something and we are able to land JJ McCarthy or something and have him sit for a year… there could be worse signings at QB.

People act like signing him to the vet minimum (which he won’t) is them saving money in their own pockets. It’s basically a lateral move to signing Jimmy G last year.

Devonte Adams, Meyers as the receivers with the talent of Mayer that will only improve. If we draft an OT with Jacobs as the back and potentially facing your old team that blamed you for everything, id take the chance on him. Idk where Penix will land but I would definitely take him if they think AOC isnt going to workout.

AP already said no more stop gaps at QB. They’re either gonna hand over the bag to move up and get their guy or run AOC out there again.

Honestly, I am not that much against it. With the Broncos paying him, it will be like a QB on a rookie deal for two years and he’s probably still better than most rookies. You could spent all the picks and cap on building a team around him and take a shot.
I prefer to draft a guy to have a longterm solution and not just for two years. But if they see no way to get their guy, then I would prefer Russel Wilson over any other veteran, if we consider the costs.

He doesn’t sign with anybody till after the draft. The QB’s we want don’t fall to us or we’re unable to move up. Nothing wrong with kicking the tires on him. Having AOC and a vet like Wilson wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. Wouldn’t have give up anything for him and I’d imagine we could cut him anytime with no dead money.
