Wait, there were people thinking he wouldn’t be tagged? The real question was were they gonna be able to get a deal done fast enough with Josh so they could use the tag on Ridley instead, unfortunately the answer was no. Regardless, there was no way Josh was hitting the open market. He was either getting extended this week or tagged to prevent him from leaving in FA, no question.
When Baalke signs Christian Wilkins, bring in Xavier Mckinney to replace Rayshawn and sign Okudah for CB depth so we don’t have to take one until after round 1. And still extend Allen before training camp.
Fans will say they love Baalke again. It’s a horrible cycle. Rinse repeat.
I’m hoping they do like they did with EE last year, tag him for security, let him know they want to get a long term extension done, and then get a deal done.
Now he can think about rather he wants to join another team in the off season, while he plays our season. With a likely worse team.
Keep thinking if Turner or Verse falls at 17, Baalkes true feelings about Josh will be tested.
They need to do some restructuring now or we are going to have no money for free agents with that tag cap hit
Now we only have holes in our receiver room, CB, IDL, OL, and prolly need more pass rushers!
