[Indianapolis Colts] We have placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on WR Michael Pittman Jr.

Per Mike Chappell:
“As refresher, Colts using non-exclusive franchise tag allows Pittman to negotiate with other teams and sign offer sheet with one. Colts can match, or receive 2 1st-round draft picks as compensation. Franchise tag often serves as bridge to long-term deal before mid-July.”

  1. It’s a win:win for us. Either he signs and plays for us or we get 2 first round picks that we use to trade up for MHJ (no one is paying 2 first rounders for Pittman)

  2. I’m pretty sure the 2 1st round picks can be negotiated down, so it doesn’t HAVE to be 2 1sts as long as the Colts agree to it.

  3. Pittman was the one i was most worried about not coming back. So now lets see what him and AR can get done this season

  4. I was worried Pittman would end up with the Chiefs. We all know how bad that would be.

  5. He’s a Colt. No team will pay two 1st for Pitt. I love the guy but that’s what it is, he is good but he ain’t no Cheetah.
