Panthers tag Brian Burns, now the hard part: Do they trade another star player?

  1. I lean towards trading him, the only person I am stuck on keeping is Derrick Brown.

  2. I think at this point you have to. It’s a rebuild now. So many holes to fill not enough picks. Trade him get picks and rebuild. We are years away with or without Burns from being competitive.

  3. Trade him. Prioritize DB and Frankie. Those dudes show up every game and can stop the run.

  4. Trade. He’s not a “star”. He was not even top 10 in terms of production.

  5. Hear me out, call the Bears for No. 9. They get an elite edge rush which they need, and we get a WR at 9th.

Maybe we have to add another pick, maybe Burns signs long term there.

But you reunite DJ and Burns in Chicago, Chicago can then trade pick 1, move down a few spots and get a similar package to what we trade for Bryce.

We resign Luvu and then sign like any 1 of Chase Young, Leonard Williams, Carl Lawson, Marcus Davenport, Emmanuel Ogbah…

It’s a win-win, perhaps I haven’t thought cap in my head but I mean you’re trading away like $25M in Burns anyways.

The real question for me is does Chicago do it? I personally don’t see why not.

  6. Yes. I like Burns as a player, but he should’ve been traded already. The future viability of the team and its desperate need for draft capital outweigh one player, especially one that they are never going to be able to resign.

To potentially be able to get back into the first round in this year’s draft would be a boon.

  7. We already have another B. Burns who plays good defense.

He just happens to be over in Raleigh at the moment.

  8. I want to trade Burns if we can get a first, but it scares me to think what our pass rush would look like next year if we do. Our athleticism at that position is lackluster after Burns.

  9. I think building up the interior of the d line should be the new mindset with this team, but unfortunately that Shy Tuttle contract was absolutely awful and may stand in the way. Grabbing a guy like Brandon fiske would be a game changer

With a draft that is heavy in talent in the first three rounds, getting as many picks as possible should be a priority. Which means goodbye Brian burns
