Expectations Blown

Thanks to u/Gfunkual ‘s advice for getting autographs at spring training. First trip ever was a smashing success. All within 30 minutes at an open spot in the netting. All on the same ball. Needless to say we’ll be coming back every year.

  1. I am desperately trying to get Murray’s signature on a ball that is already signed by Palmer, Earl and both Robinsons. I’m headed to Sarasota 3-11 through 3-13. Maybe I’ll bring it if it’s as easy as this. Didn’t expect Murray to be down there!

  2. That’s one of the coolest things about Spring Training. The access is unmatched.

Just a few tips for next year: aim for OMLB balls (without China) and look into a better pen.

  3. As a long time auto collector, I’d advise u to be cautious about China balls. Ink and signatures have been known to degrade over time on them. Well worth paying for OMLB balls for autos.

    Of course, awesome autographs

  4. Nice autographs to have! In saying that, I agree with what others have said – I would highly recommend using official baseballs and a really good pen in the future. Example, the Holliday signature is quite weak and it will likely totally fade out over time on that specific ball. Getting autographs is fun, wishing you continued luck in getting them in the future! Cheers.
