1. In my opinion, Mayfield isn’t going to sign for $44 million a year because he’ll instantly lose the faith of the guys behind him (also that number is insane and totally made up). He’ll be paid well, a hell of a lot better than he was last season, but between him prioritizing a longterm home, consistency with a team he likes, and at the very least projecting a “I’m a team first guy” image I just don’t see how Baker could bring himself to cap limit us so bad and prevent us from being able to sign guys to help us make a run.

   If Baker behind closed doors is asking $40+ million a year, we need to look elsewhere.

3. He should be able to earn enough advertising dollars with his acting chops that he doesn’t need to fight for the largest contract possible. Give him free use of the pirate ship for a commercial per playoff win, or something like that.

4. Did we not go through this BS last week with Evans?

   This is Lying season! Agents put out BS to drive up prices as that’s their job, to get their client the most money.

   And Media does their job and puts out the story making everyone go crazy, driving up the ratings from fanbases like Pats, Atlanta, Minnesota and pretty much any team that wants Baker and round and round we go….

   He aint going anywhere and signing Evans 1st was smart from Jason Licht as what’s a better negotiating tactic for a QB than dangling a HOF WR at him….

6. I think the last piece of the negotiations is building his 2 bedroom home inside the ship.
