  1. …. the fuck. Yeah you wasting time at this point. It should be ahead of FA, but I am sure that Schoen has a plan for if he does retire.

  2. Damn Schoen has made so many bad roster moves. He has the reverse Midas touch. Everything just turns to shit. (Except Okereke)

  3. This would be understandable if the giants had been douchebags to him in the past but, we literally traded for him last year never had any contract talks. No idea why he would screw us like this.

  4. Please retire. Nobody wants to watch a washed up Waller sit on the bench with hamstring issues all season

  5. Thanks Darren. I really have no excitement for next season. It feels like there is a black cloud over the organization.

  6. I say this with all sincerity, if he wants to go, OK. It’d suck for the team, roster, cap, etc., but I’d get it.

His wife is out in LV and recently won two WNBA championships. They likely have more money than they’ll ever need. If his head isn’t in it, then retire. If he’s just going to spend a year going through the motions and being injured most of the time anyway, might was well take our medicine now.

  7. This makes it clear that if Waller plays next year it’ll just be for the extra paycheck rather than any kind of commitment to the team or desire to win.

  8. isn’t this a dick move? it’d be nice to know if we have to get a tight end for free agency. Keep it optimal for the team.

  9. I get it’s not the easiest decision but good lord, how about not fucking with the Giants FA plans while you sit there and mull it over? It’s the right thing to do.

  10. No chance he’s retiring. He’s not walking away from that kind of money and we’re getting a new QB.

  11. This bothers me. This is him saying I really don’t have the desire to play, but I just haven’t decided if I want to walk away from the paycheck yet. Giants don’t need a guy who’s happy to spend more time with the trainer than on the field. I hope he walks away at this point. Chances of him sitting half the games with injury are high anyway

  12. Was exciting to see if he could come in and help maintain the success from the 2022 season but after the 2023 season, I really want to move on from him.

Love premium TEs as they are a good way to get a top receiving threat at a fraction of the cost of a WR1, but dude’s mind is thinking retirement and he’s banged up all the time.

  13. Obviously Giants fans aren’t happy with Waller given his performance last year, but just to put things in context.

This is a guy who battled substance abuse the majority of his career, came out on top and became one of the best WR of the league for a solid 2-3 year time frame. He’s been at rock bottom, way lower than many of us have ever been and came out on top. If he decides to retire, I’m gonna wish the best for him and his life. If not, I hope he does well for the team. Either way it’s his decision and the fan base really shouldn’t be toxic towards the guy cause he’s been through some dark places many of us probably have never been.
