  1. BIRTHDAY RUINED.

Farewell, my glass loving Russian. I will miss you terribly.

  2. You kinda of figured someone was out the door with the two acquisitions they made today. Sucks to see Trenin go, but the return seems decent for it. Plus if we actually want more kids in the lineup someone has to move on.

  3. Damn. I really wish we could’ve kept Yak :(. I loved him here. Guess they couldn’t get an extension. There’s also not gonna be much of a fit for him in the future with other guys coming up who’ll be able to play a similar role. Still, Yak seems like an awesome guy and I wish him the best.

  4. So we traded Trenin for a 3rd to a team that could potentially knock us out of the playoffs with him and swapped Sward for a guy thats basically Sward. Wtf

  5. We just got a lot worse. Trenin was a gritty player that brought a physical presence who could win battles and control the puck as well as move it down the ice, also an important piece on our penalty kill which was already stuggling. Hate to see him go, especially to Colorado…

  6. I liked Yak quite a bit but I don’t think he’s been as impactful as he was when the Herd line was going strong. I’m not sure these mid level trades are doing anything particularly exciting for us tho. Time will tell

  7. If Carrier and/or Fabbro are on their way out too, I could see Hanzel being sent to Milwaukee in order to bring up a D guy to cover that spot.

  8. I hate to see Trenin go but kind of saw it coming. Glad I didn’t grab his jersey last week. I’ll still gladly pick one up once they’re discounted though. Hopefully he’ll thrive with the Avs.

  9. I viewed the yak as great on the forecheck and great on the PK.

Who is going to replace that immediately? Otherwise this move is going to hurt us a bit in terms of ‘all lines rolling’

  10. Hanzel played with Prokov and Schaeffer last year on Seattle’s WHL club. I am guessing that we saw something we liked was we watched all of those games.

Hanzel played on the 1st PP and in the PK. I am guessing that this means that he is probably a better defender than sward with a similar point production.

Sward was a 5th round pick and Sward was a 5th. So we could have drafted Hanzel if we can wanted him at the time.

Will be interesting to see how this goes. He is a LHD but we really need some RHD.
