Luka following steps of Harden & Westbrook? Is it a Luka or Kidd problem? Chuck saying Luka has too much of the ball and that’s why Dallas is losing. Not including others and that his usage, points and assist numbers should be going down.

  1. Do these scriptwriters get all their talking points from NBA twitter? I can’t believe I have to hear actual people repeat this stuff in real life like it’s factual, because somebody paid to stoke the flames said it

  2. I love this crew but let’s not pretend like their words are somehow important lmao. I doubt any of these guys have watched 10 full mavs games this season.(or any team for that matter) Wouldn’t take what they say too seriously. Just great entertainment. As for luka, he’s a far better player that westbrook and a better playoff performer than harden.

  3. They’re correct about what they’re saying. He’s on that exact trajectory, and he needs to be less ball dominant. I think he’s capable to change if the environment is right. At the moment he can only pass to one other guy that won’t dribble it off his foot after 3 dribbles. Unless it changes, Luka shouldn’t be blamed for all of it

  4. Chuck is a moron. The whole half time show consist of morons with bad takes.

  5. I know a lot of people might not agree with this but I think he’s right to some extent.

I think luka does handle the ball too much due to which our offense gets predictable. But the problem with this roster is that other than ky and luka, all the other guys are guys who have been bought on the low banking on the potential.

And just like all the guys who are bought on the low, they can help you win the championship but they can’t be trusted to be the centre of the offense.

  6. It’s a roster problem, not specifically a Luka problem. The front office along with Kidd assembled this team to maximize Luka’s skill-set. In the process of building this roster they created the same problems the Thunder and Rocket ran into, a hyper specialized role based team. It kinda worked when we had more ball handlers/shooters like Brunson and Dinwiddie because we also had really good wing defenders/shooters. Now we have this team with mediocre wing defenders/shooters and only Luka and Kyrie handle and distribute the ball. Their usage rate is way up because everyone else is a role player that can’t handle the ball. It’s a self fulfilling prophecy because GMs keep building the rosters the same ways and playing the same way.

  7. Yeah I agree with him that he needs to learn to play off the ball a bit better. Offense can’t only be “give to Luka and let him cook”. Reminds me alot of early Cleveland Lebron teams. We have a decent roster, offense needs to be a better one.

  8. Is that why his minutes are a massive + every game while team cant buy a bucket when he sits? Like literaly cant buy one.

  9. First thing Phil Jackson told Jordan when he got to the Bulls was that he needs to touch the ball less to win a title… not more….

We ain’t winning if Luka is so ball dominant and we ain’t winning unless we get a 1st or 2nd team all defensive player.

  10. Considering our personnel, having the ball is anyone else’s hand is not a net positive. I do agree that the Mavs offense stagnates and becomes predictable when they run the same play over and over, but that’s a game planning issue more than Luka. I’m glad we saw Exum dismantling the Heat defense after Luka gets blitzed… at least we have one guy outside LuKai who can get something done.

  11. Shaq is the only one that made some sense saying a great player can keep those numbers while still making everyone better. Luka finds so many open guys, if half of those bricked shots made it in he’d easily pass Hali for avg assists. These guys also don’t look at points generated, Luka is way up there on that category.

  12. Bro see usage rate and I completely ignore their opinion. Mj kobe lebron kareem Wilt all had high usage rate. Shai brunson gainnis literally has like 1 or 2% less than luka and luka numbers are significantly higher. Luka literally carries this offense in his back . Every lead we get starts from him and every lead we lose is when luka is not on the floor or the offense isn’t run by him.

  13. Would love to see Luka grab “MVP” but clearly it’s not the “best player in the league” award so… without Luka, how many wins would this team have, honestly? Gotta believe they’d have like 22 or something, no?
