It’s not the $10M/year…that’s not insanely expensive and certainly won’t be in 10 years. It’s the 10 years for a guy who has thus far played like a backup or stop gap till we get a legit 3B. He’s young and will almost certainly improve but we haven’t seen 10-year-deal prowess yet.
Also, he’d be dumb to take this. If he does develop into a legit 3B, it’s the worst deal in history from a player perspective.
