[Murray] Sources: The Giants have placed J.D. Davis on waivers. Davis, who can play the infield and outfield, became a candidate to be moved after the Matt Chapman signing. A waiver claim is possible.

  1. Holy shit. Not even a trade? Did the Giants lose that much leverage when they signed Chapman?

A’s are gonna claim him and he’s gonna walk into the other dugout in this game

  2. genuinely surprised that we couldn’t find someone to trade with for him, he’s a pretty solid player on his last year of team control and that can’t get any interest?

  3. Kind of surprised nobody would trade a lottery ticket prospect for him or something.

  4. Who had a better offensive season? JD Davis or Matt Chapman? Remindme! 5 months

  5. kind of a disaster scenario. have to imagine theyd have taken on the entire contract in a trade if theyre willing to waive him, so they basically got nothing for a decent starter last year.

  6. He should reinvent himself as a relief pitcher since he has experience with that anyway.

  7. Giants should teach him 2B since the Marco Luciano Experience doesn’t seem to be going well

  8. Feel like he is primed to he claimed. I could see the cardinals wanting him, with our injury to Nootbaar

  9. Jerry please go get him, the idea of potentially playing Ty France at 3B this year is giving me anxiety
