[Person] Panthers are restructuring TE Ian Thomas’ contract, per league source. Some have speculated whether CAR might cut Thomas, who – like Hayden Hurst, Bradley Bozeman & Donte Jackson – is due a roster bonus on 3/16. Thomas likely taking a bit of a pay cut, as he did last yr.

He can’t keep getting away with this!!!
Just one more year. Probably. Hopefully. I guess the front office figured we didn’t have the cap space to sort out every position, so this is us kicking the TE can down the road.
Anyone have any clue how much the restructure saves vs what a cut would have saved?
Obviously he’s not a good player but some say he’s a solid run blocker at least
I’m okay with this since his contract is an expiring I don’t think we are kicking the can down the road, just forcing him to take a cut in pay this season.

I miss having a viable option at TE. It’s even worse now when you look at all the solid ones around the league and then realize we’re still starting this bum.
There has to be something that Canales sees in him. What that is, I have no idea.
With as easily as he’s cutting other folks, there has to be some reason behind it.
