[Schlereth] My take on people accusing SeanPayton of sabotaging Russ!

   Source: Me, possibly the worst QB on the planet, and definitely worse than Russ.

3. Schlereth slobbering over Sean Payton again. It’s getting weird.

5. We need to stop making excuses for QBs who turned out to be not as good as we thought when we pinned high hopes on them. We had all this bullshit about Fangio sabotaging Lock and now its Payton sabotaged Russ.

   We’re going to have the same excuses over the next couple of years for the rookie that we draft. It will be “*NOBODY* could have succeeded in that situation – Payton sabotaged his chances by tearing up the roster and getting rid of his weapons like Jeudy”. If we trade a few future picks to move up and draft the rookie this year then they will say Payton sabotaged him by removing our ability to build the offense around him in Year 2/3 because he gave up picks and we didn’t have cap space to sign people in free agency.

10. It’s wild how to guy hired to fix the QB situation alienates the QB, demolishes the cap, sets the snowball’s chance of a trade to an even more QB thirsty team on fire, and gets more power from the organization.

    The broncos did not hire Payton to rebuild or gm the team. They hired him to coach up the talent he was given, with a ton of money sent his way. Coach GMs do not have a great track record and rebuilds are usually executed by a powerful GM and a desperate coach.

    Ironically, the broncos now need to find another Russell Wilson. An overlooked QB that they can get later in the draft with a cheaper deal. Not easy. Otherwise, tank and go into need a QB hell with an expensive coach who blew up the team.
