[Barrows] Per source, the 49ers restructured Fred Warner’s contract last week, converting a sizeable portion of his base salary into bonuses. That ought to create some salary-cap cushion as free agency begins in earnest at 9 a.m. today (15 minutes from now).

  1. He wants to win it all as a Niner. And I hope he does. We’re gonna be fine. Don’t lose hope, Faithful.

  2. Fred is such a class act. I hope we get to see this man in a Niners uniform for the rest of his career.

  3. Damn, this team is going to look a little different than I initially thought heading into the season. I thought we’d be running it back, but the FO seems like they want to go all in in 2024. For good reason, we’ve been so impossibly close every single year and haven’t been able to get it done. Forget the fucking dynasty this team should be rolling on right now, we just need to do everything we can to win it all ONE time with this core group of guys.

  4. If changing base salary to bonuses frees up cap why not just have the whole thing be a bonus?
