  1. Insider by Kyle Fredrickson not paywalled.

“*Denver Gazette beat writer Kyle Fredrickson takes you around the NHL and inside the Colorado Avalanche:*

    # WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

“He’s not going to come back too early. It’s just not going to happen. He has a timeline that says: ‘You’re not coming back until this date.’ It doesn’t matter how good you feel. We’re sticking to that. It’s his career. We’re not going to play with that, regardless of where we’re at in a playoff series. … Then he’s got to get himself to the point, hopefully, where he can come back. We don’t have clarity on that.”

—Avalanche coach **Jared Bednar** on the recovery timeline for captain **Gabe Landeskog**.

    # WHAT I’M THINKING

—It will soon be time to learn whether the hype of Landeskog’s return to the playoffs is real. General manager Chris MacFarland and Bednar [continue to say it’s possible](https://denvergazette.com/sports/colorado-avalanche/avalanche-s-gabe-landeskog-remains-on-timeline-for-potential-return-in-playoffs/article_4fe8269a-db3b-11ee-b29f-cf7e7944134d.html). A timeline exists where the captain is back for the postseason. But here are the facts.”

  2. They were really beat up in the series with the Kraken, actually scratch that they were injured the entire season. then Val leaving and the suspension for Cale which was absurd.

Amazing we won the division as I think there was only one team that had more man games lost then we did.

  3. I cannot imagine why any Avs fan would want Landeskog to come back for the playoffs. 1. The team is clicking and playing super well. 2. They made a handful of incredibly smart deadline acquisitions that solve previous talent gaps. 3. Dude hasn’t played in however long and had a surgery no one has come back from.
