I don’t know if we give enough credit to these guys for learning a very difficult new language on top of everything else during the year. Good for him!

That’s awesome, good for him. His English is really solid too. I’m fine with guys not learning English, I can still fully get behind them but it’s cool to see that he’s learning and taking full advantage of the stardom, much easier to connect with fans when you speak the same language
Ely is such a delight. He’s a fun player to watch, full of enthusiasm and love for the game. He looked (in the few spring games I was able to see) as if he’s getting more discriminating at thep plate. Amazing how much more comfortable he seems here with English in just one year!

He’s spoken pretty good English for a while, too.
He used to speak English when talking with fans in Chattanooga, even though the English that came back at him was not exactly the easiest to understand.
