I want AD to win a dpoy as much as the next guy but it’s hard to make a case for him when our defense has gotten worse. That plays a big role. Minnesota is currently number 1 ranked defensively. Lakers are like 17 and have progressively gotten worse over the season. But it is a shame AD isnt even a top 5 candidate.
He won’t win because of the Lakers record.
He’s gonna get robbed by Rudy Gobert the one dimensional defender (who is admittedly great at what he does) and who is surrounded by a great supporting cast of defenders.

If he were to win I’m guessing it would be the first time a player from a bottom-10 defensive team won that particular award?
Only way AD will get DPOY this year is if the Lakers climb to 6th seed. The team’s bad record and AD’s street clothes stereotype is still hurting him. If he plays this well next year, he could get the DPOY.
I’m praying AD somehow makes it, I put $100 down when it was +2500 odds lol
