  1. Honestly, good for him. What a story for a UDFA out of nowhere. I remember when he spelled Melvin occasionally, and I’m like who’s this short dude? He’s a beast!

He gave us many great years and we should be thankful. Even more thankful he’s not going to LV! Ball out Ek!

  2. I hope he bounces back next year and helps bring the Commies success. He’s a dope dude, loved watching him in powder blue, but the writing has been on the wall for a while now that his days with the Chargers were numbered.

  3. Wasn’t a division rival so I can cheer him on. Hope nothing but the best for him. These last two years were rocky to say the least, but he has been one of the most valuable and impactful players on this team for quite a while. Anyone who says anything less is just bitter.

  4. Looks like he’s taking the Antonio Gibson role with Brian Robinson being the starter. Thank you for your time here, Ekeler. You had some great years.

  5. Me and my brother watched ekeler in preseason the season he was an udfa. We fell in love instantly. I will always be a fan of this man and wish him nothing but the best. Thank you Ekeler

  6. At least he’s not in the division. Going to miss him on our squad, but at least he’s getting decently paid before the gas runs out.

  7. Thank God he’s not in the AFC West and out of the AFC. Thankful for what he gave us, and what a story: UDFA to one of the most versatile backs in the league. Wishing him success in DC!

  8. So he signed a 2 year 11 mil CK tract and we signed Gus for 2 years at 7 mil. Anyone know what this means in terms of comp pick? The formula still confuses the fuck out of me lol.

  9. Least it wasn’t the raiders. Although that would’ve been hella ironic with ol Tommy boy over there now.

  10. Didn’t even realize Anthony Lynn was over there at Washington so it makes sense for him and it’ll probably be a good fit

Thanks for all the memories big dawg!!

  11. Anthony Lynn connections I see.

Good for him. I hope he balls out with Maye or Daniels or whoever QB they choose

  12. I’m not mad at this. Just happy he went to a team i don’t hate, It’s hard to say if he’s actually over the hill or if the injuries just stacked up last season.

Either way, Good for the guy. Always a quality teammate and one of the most productive RBs during his time here.

  13. Good luck to him. A real hero of the last few years. Being real, I think he’s benefitted massively from the scheme here, Herbert’s talent, and the lack of true RB competition.

I think in some of the bigger games (e.g. the Jags, where he ran for 0 yards on 7 attempts in the 2nd half) he has done absolutely nothing in the time you need an RB to salt games away. But in a situation where he can be a complementary back, he should be a stud.

No matter what, he’s been amazing as a UDFA, and I hope he retires a Charger one day.

  14. I will always remember Austin Ekeler fondly for his time with the Chargers. Dude was great, glad he’ll be helping a team that’s not the Raiders, Chiefs, or Broncos
