  1. Ok this is true, and I’m happy to have Bates. With that said, there were quite a few good options available at Centre that we could have gotten without giving up trade capital.

We have addressed FS and RB and it looks like Poles might like Dexter/Pickens/Billing’s for the iDL next season but we really need to address Edge.

Really hoping to land Chase Young or Hunter. This would allow us to take the BPA at 9 and not feel pressured to trade back for more picks.

  2. Trading a 5th for a backup interior o-lineman who can play either side guard or center, is not a bad move. Trading for that same backup caliber interior o-lineman and intending for him to play center in front of a rookie quarterback, which Poles stated is his plan, is FUCKING INSANE.

  3. I’m not salty about the trade. I actually liked that move when I thought it was to have solid depth at center and guard. I’m angry about the fact it appears we are planning to start Bates. All of the good centers other than Williams (who is coming off a torn ACL) have already been signed. And I’m not sure where the draft capital is going to come from to get one with no second round pick, and Fields trade market dead.
