  1. That’s a lot of money for him…but good for him regardless, 5th rounders getting a second contract is good to see

  2. I’m not super surprised at the total amount, but that’s a ton of guaranteed money for him

  3. Sad to see him go, hope he does well in Atlanta… Seems like this might increase the odds of a WR being on the board for us at 9.

  4. Strong deal for Darnell. Also makes it slightly less likely they take a WR with their pick

  5. Rip to when, I think it was Ted Phillips said Darnell Mooney was a piece to build a team around in a post season press conference.

I think that was the “have we gotten the qb right? No.” Presser.

  6. Pace strikes again!

Everyone was saying he messed up not taking the 3/30 offer the Bears reportedly gave him last offseason.

    Same contract as Gabe Davis

  7. Should’ve thought about the Ryan Pace/Falcons pipeline.

Thought for sure he was going to KC

  8. Turns out, Mooney *didn’t* lose his bet by turning down the $30m/3 year contract from the Bears and he gets a massive upgrade at QB in Cousins

  9. Over the moon for Mooney getting paid. Glad Poles was drinking essence of insanity

  10. Between this contract, and getsy getting multiple interviews and landing another OC job, it should tell y’all everything you need to know what the league thinks about fields.

  11. That is shocking to me. I thought for sure he needed to take a 1 year flier after last year. Still good for him, I’m super happy that he got a nice bag!

  12. Make no mistake: every team in our division and every team picking behind us in the draft is hoping we somehow convince ourselves to roll with Fields. They might be wrong, but between Getsy and Mooney and the trade market for Fields it’s pretty clear who NFL execs think was the issue last year.

  13. Paying $13 mil for a guy who didn’t break 500 for 2 straight years is…. something

  14. I was actually hoping we’d resign him. I think he is a lot better than he showed last year and with better QB play and game planning he’ll be good again. I expected KC to snag him and then he’d go off for 1000+ yds.

    Good luck to him.

  15. Wow. Big contract. Happy for Mooney, it was rough with Fields out there for him. I actually like the fit. Between London, Bijan and Pitts Mooney could totally be Kirk’s Theilen in Atlanta.

  16. Mooney contract. Getsy new job. Tells you what the league thinks the issue is with the offense
