  1. Oh look, more D line. That’s definitely a position group this team regularly ignores year after year. /s

  2. I like how we are not making a big splash in our d line but adding depth and not spending recklessly.

  3. Have no idea if he’s any good since his snap count looks low but this stat from week 9 looks like he might fit the mold as a rotational run stopper https://x.com/wildlifeluvr/status/1722634786265809350?s=46

    Edit:

for what it’s worth, espn nextgen stats had him ranked #6 for DT run stop win-rates with 40% (just ahead of Jordan Davis) and the third highest double team rate of the top-10 at 45% (Jordan Davis was #1 at 53%)

table might be fucked up but at this point idc what a waste of time lol you get the point

  4. Maybe they are equipping to go after Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Jackson and any other running Qbs they run into in the superbowl.

  5. I will not be satisfied until we have a Sunday roster of only 53 defensive linemen.

  6. PFF grades are horrible, but last season he ranked 6th in DT run stop win rate.
    Looking like it’s gonna be a DT 1st or 2nd round…

  7. Like Gross-Matos, he was a draft prospect that we met back in 2020. I personally like this pattern of going out and signing guys they liked during their visits.

  8. I feel like we are getting lavonte david and another DT in FA, then address the OLine in the draft

  9. We don’t have a lot of cap space since we’ve got so much money tied up in resigning key core players every year. We have to get guys like this who may be rough around the edges and get the very best out of them. Like Ferrell last year and omenihu the year before. I wish we had just paid omenihu and kept him. He could have been the bookend to Bosa for years. We sometimes are a little too cocky in replacing players when they leave. I get our coaching is next level, but that only goes so far. I know we can’t keep everyone but if your gonna pay bosa that much you gotta invest to make him the most impactful player he can be which means giving him an opposite edge rusher to take some pressure off.

He was double and triple teamed almost every play and managed 10 sacks. It’s incredible. But Bosa could potentially break the sack record if he had enough help. We can’t invest so heavily in the d line and not have them perform to the level of cap they are using. So we have to get this position group, right? Especially after losing Arik. It seems like there isn’t any hope that we can make this team better with cap restraints. It also says just how good our team was over the last two seasons and why some of us were so devastated after losing the SB. It’s only downhill from a roster like that. The year we lost to the eagles was our peak.

Maybe the year before if we had Purdy then. Had we gotten some key players in the draft instead of trading up for Lance, we may have been able to maintain that level a bit longer. But it’s alright. If Purdy and some of our other younger core players raise their level of play, we still have a chance to compete. It also depends on how badly we age in other spots. Can Trent keep it going? Is kittles body going to hold out? Can we even handle injuries at certain positions? This off-season is paramount. The draft could be even more so. I’d lost hope after the Super Bowl, so I guess any sort of success this year is a win. It felt like our window closed because of how good the rest of the nfc was getting. We got through this year because they were young and inexperienced. This next season, we won’t have any margin for error because our roster is taking such a downgrade.

  10. Solidly unspectacular signing. He’ll be a decent rotational piece and may prove to be a pretty darn good run stopper. The turnover on the defensive line this offseason shows that last year’s underachievement relative to expectation didn’t solely rest on Wilks.

  11. First move this offseason which I don’t like. Feel like we could’ve got his (frankly bad) production for much cheaper – he has not been good

  12. I honestly don’t know anything about this guy. We need depth, and he’s depth….so I suppose that’s something. His PFF numbers aren’t really inspiring (although that’s not conclusive of anything, either way).

    For context:

    – [Elliott’s PFF](https://ibb.co/s6mGT7C)

    – [Kinlaw’s PFF](https://ibb.co/HtGC5nj)

  13. As long as Sorensen can bring our defense back up to #1, then we don’t need to make too many sexy hires. Now just work on the O-Line to give Purdy more protection and we’re good.

  14. I feel like we are taking gambles on a bunch of high floor high ceiling guys in hopes with coaching from Kocerek these guys can really have a huge impact on the team much like Mooney Ward. A lot of people thought we overpaid for Ward when we first signed him but he is now a top 10 CB 2nd team all pro.

  15. We’re gonna have no money for a db or online. Drafting rookies isn’t gonna help us win now

  16. Lynch sees something we don’t. Maybe these guys are fat versions of the next Deion Sanders? They play D line and O line?

    I think I’m on to something…

  17. I’m sure the Chiefs can go 0-17 and still make the playoffs as long as Mahomes is the QB
