DJM the most empty stats 40 pt game in NBA history. He had almost zero interest in getting anyone else involved.

Dejounte plays 30 minutes more than Trent and has LESS assists than Trent. This doesn’t work.

Excellent tanking by the team especially in the end. Bravo to Clint for not being physically able to foul Simons at the end and allowing Ayton to have a crazy performance.

DJ dropped 41 against the Grizzlies to barely squeak by and 40 tonight just to lose. This bodes well for our future tanking efforts.

This team desperately needs a backup PG that could at least facilitate the offense while Trae is gone. DJM is a scorer…that’s it. This team has scorers but nobody can get them the ball in a position to score. It’s either we score via iso ball or bust

We have to come to grips that we won’t get the value we expect for DJ but we should still move on from him, he is an actively negative asset for the team in terms of mins played, time with the ball, defensive effectiveness and assists as it currently stands. This has been consistently the story with or without Trae. It’s really no longer DJ can’t play with Trae issue.
For all those who love djs game, I acknowledge you and also dj’s shooting improvements but the overall negative still stands.
The dude was -13 in a game where he had 40 points with only 3 assists and 5 turnovers in 43+ mins as the primary pg with a pretty bad defensive team.
It took 5 Hawks to record as many assists as Trae averages every night.
Let that sink in.
