Perspective

I know everyone is a little worried after the Bears trade and rest of NFC North acquiring talent. But every time I’ve seen news drop this is immediately what I think. None of the moves strike me as anything other than just acquiring talent but if you don’t have the team or the coaches to put them in position to succeed… why should I worry?

NFC north will be a battle next season no doubt. But it always was going to be. You think Aaron got scared whenever the Vikings or Bears loaded in the offseason before? I know our guys ain’t scared and will go out there more excited than ever. Be optimistic, WE are that team now. They coming for us. Let them come…..

  1. The NFCN looks to be some good football next year, 100%. Depending on what the Vikes do (I’m assuming they are moving up for a QB), all four teams could be rocking and rolling in December.

  2. Brad is playing chess while the rest of the North is playing candy land.

  3. Lions fans have permanent SOL brain damage.

Anxiety, worry and panic over every move every other team makes, especially NFC North teams, is going to always trigger a certain segment of fans, no matter what.

No team is completely perfect but most fans will never grasp that.

  4. I’d implore people to look back at teams that “won the offseason” the last 10 or so years. It mostly ends up being mediocre seasons because football isn’t played on paper. Also people always forget about regression and free agents are always a bit older and big regression candidates. Teams who build through the draft are the ones who sustain success because the cap is very much real (contrary to popular belief)

  5. Can’t build a locker room through free agency. There’s just a different level of commitment when you are playing for a city you have called home for years versus one you just got to. Theres a different level of respect when the vets know all the ins and outs of the franchise versus knowing as much or less as the young guys. There’s a different level of security when all levels of the organization are on the same page versus having leadership that’s a rough patch away from getting the boot.

Chicago has added a ton of pieces for Williams to inherit but the most senior guy on that side of the ball is good, not great, TE. I’m sure Allen will be an asset to that locker room but at the end of the day he just got there too. Mercenary teams just don’t last.

  6. The Beara and Vikings don’t have a QB, and GB has a guy that had a great half of the season.

  7. You can add all the talent you want if they don’t fit the scheme or have the right attitude for the team it means nothing. The Lions over achieved in 2022, and really last year IMHO this year they added better coaches on the Defense and better players at least on paper and have the attitude that meets or exceeds what they let go. The Lions coaching staff is better than the Bears, Vikes, and Pack, and that is a big advantage to the Lions. #AllGrit

  8. The thing with the bears, is they don’t know what they’re doing or why they’re doing it.

They don’t have a vision or Justin Fields, and or Caleb Williams. They’re adhering to whims.

They’ve certainly collected some genuine talent on Offense, and they will be scary to a degree, but they’re taking a passive approach accross their organization. Not worries

  9. All you have to do is look back on our own history of spending big money on big name players with nothing to show for it. I’m sure plenty of people thought we were going to win big when we got Trey Flowers. Or Jessie James. There’s thousands of examples on every team. Yea those players will probably still be good players in their own right because they have talent, but there’s nothing saying any of the other NFC North teams will suddenly become world beaters, especially the Bears. You still have to actually put it together and have it gel. There’s so much more to it than just getting big name people. We didn’t suddenly fall off a cliff this off season. The people freaking out seem to forget we also have been adding players. And the biggest thing is, it’s March. We aren’t playing anyone next week.

  10. Y’all do realize that this team spent a lot during the Patricia years and this didn’t go well.

Spending money like that isn’t going to make you better.
