We Actually took best QB in the 2021 Draft Class.

Lance is better than Lawrence, don't @ me.

  1. Bruh no way lol. TLaw is the only QB out of that draft that will be a starter in this league for another few years

  2. We did take the best QB available. Which isn’t saying much because the decision to trade up in the first place was the dumpster fire move. As excited as I was when we made the trade, in hindsight we should’ve just stayed put and taken Slater.

  3. lol that’s a horrible take. Lawrence definitely underperformed since he was touted as a generational QB prospect and has only been an average QB at best so far in his career. It’s for sure a disappointment, but he’s at least a starter in this league while Lance hasn’t shown anything yet that says he’s can be a starter in this league

  4. Idk if we picked the best one, but one thing we can agree is that the 2021 draft class bombed

  5. Unfortunately, that’s not true at all right now. He actually has to play to be good. We will revisit this in ten years.

  6. We did not

For a class that was supposed to be one of the deepest in eons, turns out there was just 1 guy

  7. What? How? This is probably a shit post, but he’s the only Qb from that entire draft class that hasn’t been shipped off or isn’t going to be replaced this year in the draft.

  8. I’m totally @’ing you, OP. This is a horrible take. Lawrence has done 10x what Lance has. TLaw is still not what he was supposed to be, but Lance is one of the biggest QB busts in recent history. I hope this sub will stop talking about him already. He’s 3rd string on the Cowboys FFS.

  9. Took us a lot of draft capital to get our guy, but we made the right (last) choice so that’s all that matters.

It’s still crazy to me that we weren’t going to take him and one of our scouts said “don’t let this kid be open to try out for other teams” and swayed Kyle to take him.

  10. Definitely not true but one could argue that Trey had a better season than Mac, Zach, and Fields

  11. If I was forced to start one of these players at random but I could remove one before the die was cast I’d remove Trey.

  12. 49ers took the biggest bust and also the best QB in the 2021/2022 drafts. Factoring the draft picks, hype/expectations and results.

  13. Crazy in retrospect how hyped up this QB class was in 2021 by so-called “draft experts”.

  14. We took one the best out of all draft classes since the 2020s started honestly.

2020 draft was stacked between Burrow, Tua, and Herbert and now maybe Love, 2021 has been terrible outside of Lawrence who’s above average, and 2022 was just…oh so bad..now in 2023, yeah its young and new but Richardson was hurt and Young was very bad while Stroud was amazing.

Honestly, Purdy is in the top 5 QBs drafted since 2020.

It’s like Burrow, Stroud, Herbert, Purdy, and Tua/Love (just not many games for Love yet) in my opinion.

  15. TLaw is the only one left with a starting job. Let’s not encourage these delusional takes. Trey Lance was an L and that’s okay.

  16. And now we’re balling on a budget. Couldn’t have drawn it up better than that

  17. Who is upvoting this? Trey Lance has not shown he’s even a capable back up while Lawrence has won a playoff game. Even if it’s a fluky Tim Tebow-esque playoff win I’d take 2011 Tebow over what we’ve seen from Lance.
