Conference you know we weren’t best friends  but you know what doc they were competitors   and competitors should you know rivalries should  create a little bit of friction and tension so   there was that between them but I got to tell  you the rest of the story because Marty was

Down do in years he said I don’t know if I want  to play that way I said trust me you’ll want to   play that way because the closer you get to re  ironment the more you appreciate being a part of  

This great game just like these fans here on their  feet just standing and giving it up for Patrick elos well as we know it’s a special day at St  Patrick’s Day and me and my little leprechauns  

We uh moved on up to hobbies and then what was the  St Patrick’s day without the traditional meal corn   beef and cabbage yummy that was good that was my  friend JT’s title that but if the day turns out

Meal is a gravy but you put the uh french fries  in the gravy some cheese curds and some ketchup   if you like it and then you go to work and it is  really tasty you can get it at every restaurant in  

Quebec now what’s a day uh St Patrick’s day  without looking through a uh um a patch and   trying to find a fourleaf clover we found one  what does it say I found one it’s my lucky day  

Or is it it’s Marty broer gets 552 all right how  good is that and the fans loved it then doc they   got fired up even more as this game uh winds down  and how about that there you go happy St Marty’s

Stomach but there was help well there’s one of  the brothers of Marty broer taking a deep breath   clo feeling a little bit of the pressure but the  patriarch no he’s just relaxing well maybe not   Denny’s been fidgeting up there Denny senior that  is to your right here fidgeting but he trying to  

Capture every moment do you think he could watch a  game after all these years without having a camera   in his hand probably not no you’re right not when  his son’s playing especially and and set up now   for zubas moves in with Clarkson Dina zubas  dips the shoulder backhander save rebound and  

That wouldn’t go either angles it on back to Keith  Keith with a blast turned aside by bror and sent   aside to the board to play or something W it we’re  not doing it they are here’s a drive that is held  

By broor from Dustin buffin the eyes of the broor  brothers right there that’s Denny Jr photographer   he’s been shooting all night Marty Broder he’s  been taking shots all night what’s interesting   Denny Broder has been there since the beginning as  a matter of fact Denny Broder was the only family  

Member at the game the first time Marty Broder  played a National Hockey League game and Marty   is close with all of his family but Denny because  he’s closer in age had a little more in common and  

If they’ve hung together for a lot through a lot  and Denny uh senior well doesn’t get any better   than him and miray broer I know you’re listening  tonight I know you’re up there in Montreal and  

I know you’re very proud of what Maran and your  entire family has uh has done bror handles up the   boards off elos bufflin a shot he scores Dustin  buffin from the spot and it’s 3-2 with 203 to go

Needed some help from his teammates to get that  net finally cut loose and there he has it what a   great moment I would have never suspected this was  going to be the souvenir he would take from this game still chuckling and laughing  like he always has throughout his

At this point oh it’s unbelievable you know I’m so  excited to uh be able to make uh this game come at   home in front of our fans they’ve been great all  year they’ve been great all throughout my career  

Through the success so definitely uh this game you  guys is for you thank you very much thanks for the support as a teenager you grew up rooting  for Patrick w What does it mean to break   his cherished record well it doesn’t really  matter who old it you know I think Patrick  

Was a Pioneer in the go ending and so for me  just to be around these guys I’m just uh you   know blessed I’ve I’ve been playing for a great  organization great fans great teammates all my  

Care coaches and all so this is uh this is a  lot of fun it’s it’s been tough in the last   week a lot of uh lot of things to do so now we  keep going on and uh finish the season strong  

And uh get ourselves into playoffs and uh do  some damage you have one very special visitor   here tonight it was a working night for your  father as well what has your father Dene meant   to your career oh it means everything you know  I think for me having my family especially my  

Dad in the building tonight is something  that uh you know I’m pretty proud that uh   I was able to live all these experiences with  him and through him at the same time so thanks Dad you said that your injury gave you time to put  things in perspective I would imagine retirement  

Is a long way off well with nights like this you  know this is what why we play hockey you know the   fans were great all game long Patrick did his  uh New Jersey record it was awesome for him uh  

And you know this is a lot of fun so if he keeps  on uh being fun I I’ll stick around for a long time
