Do people really consider Carolina a rival? Like they’re a good playoff team who we’ve been competitive the past couple of years but I wouldn’t consider them a rival just a good hockey team

The NHL has done away with rivalries with the way they create the schedules now.
Our rival is Toronto. Not the Leafs, but the league.

all of the northeast is collectively rivals with one another in any given sport
Replace Carolina with tampa
IMO rivalries died when they went to the 4 division system. Used to face your division rivals twice as much in the regular season under the old division system
