wait are we implying that Roy = Lane? i saw people yesterday romanticizing Lane and folks….if that’s where our fanbase is at, we’re *down bad*
I’m not saying Lane wasn’t part of the problem, but I’m not sure even Roy or Trotz or any other coach could fix this even this season, and definitely not without some long-term help in the form of better skaters.
Yeah, we’re not doing this. The defense is much improved. The in game decision making is much improved. The lineup changes make sense and are instituted in a way that works. Roy is clearly the better coach, and as the team becomes more and more experienced in his system (and the roster is tweaked to best fit his system) that will become increasingly more obvious.
I’m not judging Roy based on this season. He was clearly brought in for the future, he’ll have a chance to really implement his system, preferably with some different personnel, next year.
