  1. I don’t remember much booing last year because you guys looked like you tried.

This year they struggle to play well for strings of games, look tired, lack of caring, lazy skating, low effort

That is why they are booing, not because you are struggling to win

  2. I just wish that the discussion about the booing would end. It sucks that they were upset by fans booing, it sucks that they were playing shitty which caused the booing, but continuing to bring it up over and over isn’t helping anyone and just feels like it continues to cause this unnecessary sense of us vs them between fans and team. I get why it bothers them but I just don’t think it’s a good look to keep dragging your fan base for it. We already know they hated the boos/fire Donny chants and thought they were unwarranted. The home crowd has been SO much better lately, I just don’t understand why we’re still discussing this. It happened, it sucks, they improved play, it isn’t happening now, let’s focus on our distant playoff chances and think about what can be done to prevent it next year, no need to dwell on the past anymore.

  3. His interviev with Eliott Friedmann is up on sportsnet’s YT. ~45min lenght. Talks about lot of stuff

  4. Results. We want results. I’m glad that you tried real hard but the fact of the matter is that this team has bungled the season and are likely to miss the playoffs for what will be the 13th year.

  5. I’m with Alex. Booing your team is fucking stupid if you want to win. Childish response and it alienated the players and makes them play worse. “They get paid millions of dollars!” I’m so sick of people making no effort to actually think instead of making emotional responses to losing. Having the crowd on your side makes you play better and with greater confidence. The crowd is part of the game. If you think making a lot of money means you are some kind of hockey playing robot, I just don’t know that there’s hope for you.

  6. It’s been 13 years since i’ve watched a playoff game. Lets be honest 2010 and 2011 those teams were only going as far as miller carried them which was a first round bounce. The last time they actually had a shot i was in 3rd grade in 2007. 3rd grade. I’m 26 now. Start winning and producing results if you don’t like the booing.

  7. This is why I’m for athletes saying what they really think instead of reciting empty soundbites.

Tuch sounds a little entitled, and I wouldn’t have expected that from him. He seems like the kind of player who would be a little more thoughtful of fans’ response. But apparently not. And if he’s not, I doubt many other players on the team are. He’s one of three players on the team who have played in the playoffs and he’s complaining about fans.

Scary situation in that locker room.

  8. I’ve never seeing booing at a Sabres game that helped in any way. Fans tend to boo when the team is in most need of cheering.

  9. If I buy a ticket and the team plays like they did for the first 3 months, I’m gonna boo. Get over it. You guys played like shit and we have tons of pent up frustration. It’s about the last 14 years and the way this season started all in one.

  10. Just awful management from Granato to let the players keep complaining about the fans. I can’t imagine any other coach not stepping all over this.

How is “were soft to play against” a thing that gets the front office to go shut down players but this isn’t. What the fuck is going on with this club, this is not normal.

  11. Okay lmfao if you’re putting out a piss poor performance while people are paying good money to watch you play. Then you deserve the boos. Blame your coach for not properly game prepping you guys during practice. Not the fans for the shitty game plan/output.

  12. Lol except the effort isn’t always there Alex.

Why is this team so against owning up to their mistakes? Whether there is zero fans or 19k you should play the same way.

This blaming the fans shit is getting ridiculous. We pay to see you guys fall flat on your face year after year. Should we be happy about it? Throw you a parade for showing up for 50% of the season?

How absolutely tone deaf from this team. This is a team wide issue where they have a bad night and blame the fans for booing lmfao how soft this team is.

Mascot should be Charmin the bear for Christ sake

  13. This is fucking unreal. 89 can wear the K on his jersey next year for Kleenex.

  14. “It was actually your eyes that were lying, you cannot believe what you were seeing on the ice.”

  15. I remember, as a kid, going to Rochester Lancers soccer games. During a game there was booing and I started booing too. My parents told me after the game that was the last time they would take me if I couldn’t act like a respectful fan. I got it! I’ve never booed a team I professed to love since. Attending a game I love and rooting for the team I love is a privilege I don’t take lightly. That said, my friends, family, and I often “armchair shit talk” all the time, just not on social media.

  16. Talk to me when you experience a decade of 1st round and out. Yes not making the playoffs sucks and watching them flounder sucks but they are human too and have every right to be hurt just as much as we have to be pissed at the shitshow we see

  17. Y’all should rly give the podcast a listen because this quote is cherry picked to stir up people for pretty much reason

  18. That’s weird, because the way they played it really seemed to me like they wanted to get booed.

  19. Alex Tuch: a millionaire who gets to play hockey for living and has only endured a few years of Sabres losing

Average fan: not even 1/10th of that income, much less fun job and has endured over a decade of losing

    Hmm
