We all know he’s fast, but there isn’t anyone even close to MacKinnon’s speed bursts.

200 more than the next closest person is absolutely insane, and it’s not like McDavid is a sloth, they both have the same top speed this season, but MacK is so much more explosive and gets after it like no one else in the league.

  1. As I said in my last post about Mackinnion that got heavily downvoted:

He’s a player with 90% skill and 110% effort. He’s great, but it’s because of the work he’s putting in.

He’d be a top 6 guy without his insane effort.

  2. Seeing Miles Wood on that fastest speed list makes me laugh. Dude is all gas, no brakes

  3. Kinda a digression, but it puts into perspective olympic speed skating. Those mfs are going 30+

  4. Those bursts take a lot out of you over 82 games, and in the playoffs he might make almost the same amount, over two or three series. A lot of guys who play two-way or more defensively as a forward find out the hard way that there’s suddenly a wall there one day. For some guys it’s a cliff. For guys in as good of physical condition as Nate Mack (he’s damn near peerless in that aspect) that wall may stay away for a few more years, but it shows up eventually for everyone.

  5. Did Bogosian do coke or something with 3 giys pushing him. Isn’t his average speed like 19.8

  6. Avs are such a talented offensive speedy team. Val mikko nate with cale backing them up on a rush is any teams worst nightmare.

  7. I don’t think McDavid plays with the same energy. So it’s a tough comparison. McDavid scores in other ways. MacK just always tries (and succeeds) to do it all by himself. Instead of looking for a breakout pass, he just skates the puck up the ice himself. Where McDavid really doesn’t play that way.

I don’t think this makes MacK any faster than the others, he just plays differently than everyone else. Just my thoughts

  8. As a Habs fan it saddens me to see Andersen in there, he just hasn’t put it together.
