Maxeys TS% with and without Embiid as of right now. 54.7 TS% without Joel & 60.2 TS% with Joel this season.

Someone said maxeys stats with/without embiid were something else. It's not. It's this. 60.2 TS% is solid for 2nd option but 54.7 TS% isn't great as a no.1 option.

  1. His efficiency has been rough but it’s because he is the ONLY offensive threat on this team. If a defense can shut down Maxey, they will win every single time. Nurse just wants him out there chucking up shots because no one else can do it

  2. His stats should be lower as a one option. It’s not his team, it’s Joel’s team, it wasn’t built around him for him to be the best he can, it’s built around Joel, if the team was built specifically around him, the stats would be way better

  3. Yes, without one of the best players in the NBA sucking up attention, scoring is harder. Wonderful analysis.

  4. but this is the guy the sub wanted embiid traded away for so we can give him the keys???????????? Imagine maxey all season without joel? LMFAO.

  5. Maxey draws double teams when he drives without Joel in

He’s too small to effectively navigate doubles 100% of the time without a whistle

    That’s it

  6. Why don’t YOU try stepping onto an NBA court and do better? I am sick and tired of the Maxey Detractors. He’s having at the minimum, just slightly under all-NBA season and somehow, the detractors still exist.

Where were the Detractors just LAST week with Harris/Oubre chucking a bunch of bricks? That should’ve upset you.

At least Maxey playmakes despite some efficiency issues from time to time.

  7. I mean.. the team is clearly gassed 4th quarter every night from trying to fill the gap of not having Embiid. Tired players are going to play worse.

They don’t have to put out the same energy to get points or defend when he’s on the floor.

  8. I’ve said this earlier in the season to the dumb trade Embiid posts coz of Maxey’s actual skill set really suiting an elite complementary player instead of a primary engine.

But his ts% was in the gutter without Joel for a while (like 50%). It’s gotten a lot better since we’ve got more ball handling and a little healthier, I think that’s helped Tyrese and our offense a lot

  9. My guy just dropped 30-8-10 and your first thought was “hey let me shit on this kid” lmao can’t make this shit up

  10. He did alright last night considering the opposing defense’s entire game plan is to shut him down

  11. We don’t need Maxey to be hyper efficient right now. We need him to chuck by himself and tell the other 4 bozos to D up best they can

  12. Important to consider though that there was a stretch he was clearly playing unhealthy. Over his last 10 he’s averaging 28ppg on 58%TS

  13. Ok. That makes sense. If Embiid’s around, defenses cannot ignore him, reducing the pressure on players like Maxey.

Am I missing something that this post is meant to imply?

  14. In this case especially, being the number one option means he has to do all the work. Shooting at a high clip is a hell of a lot harder when all of the focus is on you. Willing to bet Embiid’s would be down without Maxey. Embiid’s is gonna be high regardless, but for the sake of the point
